Love relationship, Parkinson
If it is sung in a movie, then it is usually a cheerful, musicaltaugliche history. Not so in love song by Anne Høegh Krohn. The director tells of a serious, incurable disease with a steadily progressive course: Parkinson’s disease. Does a great love was such a threat? That is the question with which to deal, the singing actress Nicolette Krebitz (Bandits) and the schauspielernde singer Jan Plewka (of the band Blessed) in the specially written songs for this film. Dinah and Roger are a couple, as can be found only on the screen. For nine years they live together and love each other as on the first day. They have two children, a non-paid semi-detached and dancing as a hobby. The luck could turn forever so on, if not there would be Roger’s hands, the tremor is not to hide some more. The movie takes the theme quite serious illness. The suffering has been investigated seriously. And it is one of the most touching scenes are when we Roger agonizingly long freezes on the road to see, totally helpless, unable to move. Not only the well-known tremor is one of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Much more serious is shown in the film rigidity, the regular freezing of the body to cope with the Rogers wife Dinah and children extremely difficult. Equally serious as the disease takes the film the entertaining element of the song and dance routines. They are filmed in part, such as music clips (albeit in a moderate cutting frequency): for himself standing units that separate themselves from the rest of the film aesthetic by their artificial nature sharp. As the body fly through the blue sky, as Roger quilting on a stage as Fred Astaire would be resurrected. In the largely self-composed and written songs in Nico Krebitz and Jan Plewka have placed noticeably flat out. The two harmonize well and offer their fans a lot for the eye and ear. The only difficult thing is to get the sugary scenes with the tragic history together. Obviously, the idea was godfather, with music that everything is easier. Somehow we have to because of, seems to think the pair, ie an end to the sadness and preferred times hummed a few bars, including lines like “just you and me” or “breaks when the world, I love you” the good- mood-purpose seem holy. True, the singing sequences in the film keep a balance so that the whole is not too sad. But this balance is the discordant, the scales do not fit together easily. The targeted loans from the Bollywood movie seem like a denial – as if to repress that one or two seconds before had been watching the suicide attempt. And if you have just started to enjoy a duet of the stars, the film makes prompt a guilty conscience: How can you have fun only so if it goes to the hero so dirty? As one longs Pure Genre: if already musical, then right. (Peter Gutting)
